‘Been a long time since the last post! Sure, I could make excuses about all the planning to go back home for my 40th high school reunion. And, then there’s the unpacking and settling in to my routine after coming back from that trip. No, I won’t use any of those tired excuses. My “bad”, simple as that.
I do find occasions such as high school reunions great opportunities to take stock of whether we’re really living a genuine life. Did we merely “buy it” and follow the suggested gameplan. Or, did we buy it early on and now we’re feeling pulled toward a different way of living? I came away from my class get-together feeling good about some things, and in need of some re-tooling in other areas. It’s not about judgement but rather about adjustment. For me 20,30, or 40 year mileposts are less about nostalgia and more about navigation- have I veered off course..is my ship taking on water..? You might want to take these questions with you if you’re headed toward a milepost event of your own.

The new episode of Chi For Yourself is finished and uploaded. My guest is Robert Kull, who spent a year alone in the wilds of Patagonia. His journaled days and nights are contained in a new book called “Solitude, Seeking Wisdom In Extremes”. In it he reminds us of the insights that quiet contemplation can bring us. I especially like the reactions he has gathered regarding the 9/11 attacks. The world’s take on the World Trade Center destruction may make you uncomfortable, but it’s something to think about!
